Super Mario Party

Mario, Yoshi, Toad, Luigi, Goombas, and Mushroom
The Party Favor "Store"

The kids were able to "buy" favors with tickets they found in the eggs at Yoshi's Egg Hunt. The second shelf contains handmade paper crafted Mario, Luigi, Toad, and the different mushrooms. The boxes were filled with chocolate coins, Mario Candy, and different Mario stickers. No detail too small. Every guest received a Mario or Fire Mario candy.

GAMES
Pin the Mustache on Mario

Scratch and Win
The kids all received a scratch card and underneath revealed their prize. For example, if they got a Mario, they won a Mario figure. If they got Bowser, it was game over and no prize.
Or if they received 5 "store" points they could use it to buy various party favors.

Lego Birthday Party

We recently had a birthday party for my son's 8th birthday. He wanted a Lego birthday party (click on Lego birthday party to see more photos on Flickr). Our parties always start with the invitation:

LEGO INVITATION

We used various Lego products. Since they don't have any party supplies, we had to be creative. Like the pinata, this Lego minifigure head pinata was hand-made by me and filled with candy and Legos:

The Lego party favors were custom-made by us and each one contained a Lego minifigure and thank you note:

The cake was made by using the Lego cake mould and Lego brick ice mould:

I made sugar cookies using the Lego cookie cutter and we had a cookie decorating table and the winner received a homemade white-chocolate and rice crispy mini figure:

The cookie decorating was the hit of the party, but the kids also loved getting the Legos from the pinata. They traded minifigures with each other. Together with the bounce house, cookie decorating, pinata and trading, there wasn't a need to play any games. They had a great time! So great, the last kid left our house at 8 p.m! The party started at 2 p.m.!
